How does the STRIDA work?

A STRIDA is a triangle on two wheels. You sit upright, it runs on a belt instead of a chain, and in a few seconds it folds into a slim package that you roll along beside you on its wheels.

Folding and unfolding

Release the catch, bring the wheels together, where magnets hold them, and fold the handlebars down. Unfolding is the same in reverse. After a few times you do it without thinking.

Folded, it goes everywhere with you

Folded, the STRIDA stands on its wheels and you roll it along by the handlebars: onto the train, into the lift, into the office or into the boot of the car.

Ride upright, without a bent back

On most bikes you lean forward to the handlebars. On a STRIDA the handlebars are high and close, so you sit upright: no bent back, no tense neck and no weight on your wrists. You get on from behind, without swinging your leg over the frame. Cycling itself is easy on your knees and good for joint and back problems.

Left an ordinary bike: you lean forward. Right the STRIDA: you sit upright.

A belt instead of a chain

The STRIDA runs on a kevlar belt. It needs no lubrication, does not rust and makes no noise. So you can take it onto the train or into your home without grease on your clothes or the floor.
